Happy New Year BootCampers! Here is the information for this year's UROCK programs. Our enrollment is almost full with many rehearsal and coaching slots going to established bands coming back or new to UROCK this school year. Now is the time to join a band and bring your friends !

We are excited to bring the UROCK program to the Willis Music Superstore in Florence Kentucky. UROCK begins with the 'Get Ready to UROCK Tour' on January 16. The Winter Quarter starts in Florence January 23.

Contact us right away to schedule a personal audition. Be prepared to play a major and pentatonic scale in two octaves, a simple improvisation in 12 bar blues, and one prepared song- cover or original.

Band auditions are already under way. Please contact us for an appointment. Qualifying bands will be invited into the Honors program.

Let us know what slot your band would like to rehearse: Saturdays: 10 am, 11:30 am, 1 pm or 2:30 pm. Monday-Thursday 5 pm or 6:30 pm.

UROCK (University of Rock)

(Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Drums, Dj and Vocals)

The University of Rock (UROCK) is a rock band experience for young musicians ages 11-17 that rehearse weekly and are coached in performing rock standards, contemporary hits and writing and performing original songs. UROCK bands meet on Saturdays and selected weekday evenings. UROCK forms bands for 12-week quarters beginning September 12, 2009 and ending June 11, 2010.

UROCK bands have performed at the Cincinnati Zoo, the Cincinnati Museum Center, Jefferson Hall, the Northside Tavern and are regularly featured on Fox19.

At least 6-months experience is required for UROCK, with knowledge of chords in the 1st position and bar chords on the E and A string for guitarists. Vocalists are encouraged to sing both lead and background.

UROCK Honors Program

Established bands are eligible for the UROCK Honors Program. The criteria for eligibility includes: bands must have at least 4 members, be 17 years old or under, have been performing together for at least 9 months and have a minimum of ten (10) songs in their current performing set list. Each band member must sign a contract for the school year.

UROCK Honors bands perform at major tri-state events, festivals and concerts and are regularly featured on FOX19.

In addition to the weekly rehearsals, we also offer sessions on Songwriting, Music Business 101, Tightening Up the Rhythm Section, What Really Goes Into a Tour, How to Get Gigs and Promote Your Band, and more. We also arrange for professional, touring musicians to come to UROCK and meet, talk with, and most importantly JAM with our students!

Boot Camp Jamz programs provide an opportunity to learn important life’s lessons, values and character strengths through music making with others. BCJamz goals include educating people of all backgrounds, exposing them to the rich repertoire of rock and pop music, offering them professional venues for rehearsing and performing, and allowing them to work with great artists of many genres and styles.
