The Underground is a state-of-the-art club and one of the Midwest's top concert venues, which provides top-quality, live entertainment from local and national music acts. It is a positive alternative with a smoke, drug and alcohol-free environment for teenagers.
The opportunity to work in a fully professional sound stage environment will elevate the bands to a new and higher standard of rehearsal and performance. The rehearsals will focus on performance objectives, not learning individual parts. The concerts will be produced and recorded with commercial audio and video by the Underground. The Underground produced The Zone on WCPO Channel 9, Saturday nights at midnight.
This year there is student input for shows and themes. We seek more inclusion in the repertoire and personnel of UROCK bands, metal, R&B, indie, etc.
Time will be spent each week on original material. Bands must play original songs in all area Battle of the Bands.
All materials, sheet music, tracks, DVD's of shows and a BCJ UROCK t-shirt are included in the fees this year. Nothing extra or added.
With the move to The Underground, 25% more rehearsal time, the increased production costs of the concert shows and the production costs of the video and DVD's; including all of the instructional materials, DVD's, T-Shirts, we are increasing the fees from $300 a quarter to $350 in 4 quarter installments.
Please register now before August 31 and receive a 10% discount.
Please help by spreading the word to your friends and school mates. Let's have 8 kids in each band to cover all the parts and the background vocals, the absences, etc.
Please help us set up meetings with interested parents, teachers, administrators and young musicians.
*UROCK starts with auditions and placement September 18, 2010 at Buddy Rogers Beechmont and moves immediately September 25 to the UnderGround.

Boot Camp Jamz programs provide an opportunity to learn important life’s lessons, values and character strengths through music making with others. BCJamz goals include educating people of all backgrounds, exposing them to the rich repertoire of rock and pop music, offering them professional venues for rehearsing and performing, and allowing them to work with great artists of many genres and styles. Using a conservatory curriculum, our participants work hard and accomplish great challenges. Best of all, playing in a band is FUN!!!
